When looking for something to do in Idaho Falls, there are a few spots you can look, that will give you the information that you need. As I am sitting here at The Group Real Estate, working on this blog, I found a few places to look for these events, and where. One of those is a website that links you to the Events side of Idaho Falls Magazine. If you click on this url, you will be taken to the site that gives you all the Featured events coming up and which ongoing events are going on, as well. http://www.idahofallsmagazine.com/Events
Here in a few days we will be celebrating Oktoberfest Celebration in Lava Hot Springs. Starting off with a costumed fun run (in which you can walk or ride bikes, as well), 5k or 10k, there will later be music, food, vendors, kids carnivals, the duck race, raffles, wagon rides, crazy hamster race (yes, you read that correctly), and a fun fire spinning! Where this is close to Lava Hot Springs, this gives you the great option to go to the Hot Springs and soak in the warm pools that spill directly out of the mountain.
The Policeman’s Ball is also this weekend. This is a fundraising event held at the Pinecrest Events Center. Every autumn time, at the beginning of October, the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 6 from the Idaho Falls Police Department, and Fraternal Order of Lodge 8 from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office have all joined forces to bring you this Ball, right here in Idaho Falls. This year will be the 11th Annual Policeman’s Ball. Each and every year the event has gotten bigger and bigger. This year they are bringing in Killer Keyz dueling pianos to help celebrate 11 years of doing the Policeman’s Ball. The fundraising here supports rebuilding the lives of families and children who have been impacted by any type of domestic style violence. There is also a fund to help build law enforcement family support and project fund. There are raffles, prizes, ranging from trips to guns and the very popular (each year) dessert auction.
Here are some of the Ongoing Events that come to us every single year. The Swore Farms Corn Maze goes all the way through the month of October. Come enjoy a fun time at the Corn Maze as you get lost in a wonderful maze of corn stocks, creating to get you lost, be challenging and fun! Also, the Space: Journey to our Future exhibit at the Museum of Idaho goes through November 25th and is a greast palce to take the family. Kids welcome. The Story Time for Children goes through October, as well, at the Library, where they offer 13 story times each week.
As October goes, there is always a need for something scary. The Theatre of the Lost Souls and the Hospital of the Lost Souls are both great places to go get a great scare, just located in Shelley, Idaho, only 20 minutes south of Idaho Falls on hwy 91.
If you love the Theatre, especially Broadway style theatre, one of the best places to go and indulge in this, is at the MC Theatre ARTitorium over on Broadway, in Old Town. This weekend they are showing the National Theatre Live, where they broadcast the Braoways production to the theatre, so you can experience, as close as we can here in Idaho Falls, to what the Broadway stage productions feel like. The first show in the National Theatre Live is No Man’s Land, a show staring Sir Ian Mckellen and Sir Patrick Stewart. You can buy a season pass for all the shows that will be coming this Fall, for $100.
These are just a few of the many, many options to see, go to, experience here in Idaho Falls. Please take a look at Idaho Falls’ website for their magazine and check out the events page to see all of the events that we will be having here, or near Idaho Falls, this Fall.
