Before you get ready to do your first drone video to market your listing, here are some things to consider.

    Hiring a local drone professional. It’s a much better route than buying your own drone and trying to shoot your own footage. Being able to shoot your own footage is amazing, and will work out well, if you take the proper training and schooling. However, until that point, make sure that you hire someone to do these for you. It can take a lot of practice to get used to big, sweeping 10-minute flights. A lot of practice. You also need to have an operator’s certificate, an FAA UAV operator’s certification, to fly a camera drone for real estate marketing. The main stay for hiring a local professional, before taking steps forward to doing your own, is that you are able to learn from the professional. Asking questions and watching them work will only lend to you moving towards doing your own drone footage.

When you capture a lot of of long, amazing footage, it makes it easier to edit the shots that you want for your full time video. An example of this, is if you want a one minute shot, make sure that you take 3 or 4 ninety second shots. This will help you get the edited shots that you need.

    Buy, or use, on these three types of drones: The Typhoon H, which is the best value for a 4k camera. The Phantom 4 PRO, which is the most advanced and has object tracking. The DJI Inspire 1 v 2.0 which utilizes the HD 4k camera and is the most professional. It also has the 3-axis gimble.

    Always use a 3-axis gimbal. This type of gimbal helps cradle the drone’s camera in a gyroscopically-balanced mount that hold the camera steady while the drone moves around. It also uses electrical motors to orient the camera while it is flying.

    Make sure that you shoot your more important video footage two or three times. Lighting changes, weather changes and vibrations come and go during each flight. You won’t catch these subtleties by watching the live streaming video on the controller’s screen. Shoot every shot two or three times, so you can edit out the bad parts later.

    Learn how to shoot like the pros. This goes back to what we talked about at the start. If you hire out for the first few, even better, as you can see the different styles and ways the pros do it. Make sure that you take courses or you familiarize yourself with someone who has the right licensing, this will lend itself to more shoots for the future. Perfecting the craft will make the video footage that much better, which will, in turn, make for an amazing marketing tool.
