    Chubbuck, Idaho

Here at the Group Real Estate, we love to highlight a few of the surrounding areas that we help with listings and buying. A quick history of Chubbuck tells us that in the early 1800s fur traders, hunters and trappers visited the area to trade with the Indians. The first settlers of the area were the Shoshone and Bannock Indian tribes. A man by the name of John C Fremont came to the Portneuf area in 1843 and found it a great place that was appropriate for agriculture. As the railroad came through the Portneuf Valley, one of the railroad conductors by the name of Earl Chubbuck stopped off and the township of Chubbuck was named Chubbuck Beet Run, later changed to Chubbuck Siding. Today the metropolitan area neighboring Pocatello is known as Chubbuck.
The population is just under 15,000 people. If you are looking for a place to nestle down, that is near a highly populated town, this is the place. You will get the small town vibe, with small neighborhoods, safe for your kids to roam and play. It gives you that wonderful small town feel, while being right next to a town that gives you wonderful places to eat like Chipotle, multiple schools for your children to attend, a four year University with some of the top Engineering and Medical field courses to offer, plus it sits next to hills and mountains to go hike and have a great outdoor experience. The rich culture that resonates from a town, such as Pocatello, is felt in Chubbuck.
Some great attractions near Chubbuck are Stuart Park, a wonderful park kept beautiful for the children to play on, to have barbecues with your family members and a place to walk the dog. Another wonderful place to visit is the Idaho Museum of Natural History. A place that will give you the rich history of the railroad, the Indian trades, and the wildlife of the Portneuf Valley. One of the better attractions, that is actually right in Chubbuck, though the internet will tell you that it is in Pocatello (the address is on Chubbuck Rd), is the Palace Playhouse. If you love the theatre and love to eat while watching the theatre, this place is for you. The actors there are willing to interact with you as the audience, they serve you the food, and the shows are always very family friendly.
If you are looking for a great place to live, to raise your family, and to be close to a major Idaho town without being “in town”, Chubbuck is the perfect place for you. There is plenty to do, great schools, and wonderful parks that give you the wonderful “homey” feel you have been looking for.
